History
More than twenty-seven
years ago a few trailblazing Arizona women took on the challenge
of changing lives through the dignity of work for the
growing number of individuals in our community relying on
welfare. Their vision and passion helped develop and launch
AWEE. Now, as Arizona's premier workforce development organization,
boasting six locations in Maricopa County, one in Yavapai
County and others sprouting up in other counties, AWEE is
fulfilling a great need and being asked to partner and close
the gaps where other service providers or government agencies
need the extra support.
To
date, we have served and supported more than 40,000 individuals
in their quest to attain quality jobs that create positive
changes and successful beginnings for themselves and their
families.
AWEE
serves anyone seeking a way to support their families and
themselves through work. Our participants include women and
men ages 14 to 70+, who are ready for a guiding hand, new
skills and new options to consider. Our participants may be
currently employed or re-entering the workforce. Some participants
have challenges with transportation or child care, while others
seek assistance in polishing their resume or better management
of their income.
