Would
you like to become more involved with our organization as
a volunteer? Whether you are looking to volunteer for a few
hours or an entire year, learn new skills or build current
skills, we have an opportunity for you!
We
rely on volunteers to support and maintain our programs, services
and special events. We are looking for people willing to give
their time and talent to promote AWEE's mission - changing
lives through the dignity of work.

AWEE
Volunteer Opportunites
Clothing
Bank
Our
professional clothing bank provides participants a wide selection
of professional clothing to assist them at interviews and
the first days of work. Donations are received daily and volunteers
sort, restock, and maintain the cleanliness and organization
of the clothing bank. Volunteers also help participants to
choose the perfect outfit for their first interview and first
day at work.
Education
Services
AWEE offers educational and career workshops covering career
exploration, resume writing, mock interviewing, and more.
Volunteers assist instructors teach essential computer skills
including how to work with Windows, the internet, e-mail,
word processing, and other software essential to a successful
job search. Volunteers also assist at mock interview sessions
and perform basic clerical work.
Mentors
Are you a person who has been successful in business and life
and would like to give back to help others be successful?
Have you been previously incarcerated and would like to give
back by helping someone who has walked in similar shoes? Become
a mentor for women in our Paths to Living Free and Women Living
Free Programs which assist women who have been released from
prison on non-violent offenses.
Special
Events
Special event volunteers provide support with set-up and staffing
various recognition events and job fairs throughout the year,
including our annual Faces of Success Luncheon. Volunteers
are representatives of AWEE, providing information about our
programs and services, as well as greeting guests and visitors.
Office
Support
Office
volunteers are the backbone of our organization. Volunteers
support all departments through setting-up files, organizing
mailings, maintaining databases and making follow-up phone
calls. Volunteers also assist with receptionist duties, job
listing updates, and keeping computer workstations organized
and clean. Office volunteers allow staff to reach out to more
clients, strengthening and supporting our mission.
Project
Development
New
volunteer projects and assignments are constantly being created
and developed. Interested in sharing your thoughts and ideas
to develop creative and fun projects for AWEE volunteers?
This assignment is for you. Future volunteer opportunities
may include: Career Coaching, Mentoring, and AWEE Ambassadors.
